Netherlands: Largest number of social network users globally
The Netherlands has the greatest amount of online social network members relative to its site, reports the European Journalism Centre. 49% of the country's citizens are affiliated to social networks.
Next in line is the United Arab Emirates , with 46% of inhabitants. The figure is 44% for Canada and 40% for the US.
Globally, 26% of people are social network members, according to market research firm Synovate.
Hyves, LinkedIn and MSN Spaces are the most popular social networks in the Netherlands, in decreasing order.
The greatest concern of Dutch users is privacy issues, as 54% have reported.
