US: WSJ.com gives free entry to op-eds, videos and more
Free website OpinionJournal.com will be merged into WSJ.com’s opinion section.
Video content will be provided by the Journal’s weekly show on Fox, the Journal Editorial Report.
"We're delighted to offer our worldwide readers access to our message of free people and free markets -- for free. And we hope you'll pay a visit," commented a WSJ article today.
News Corp. finalized its acquisition of Dow Jones only weeks ago, in December. FT.com’s paywall policy also evolved in October, when the site decided to offer 30 free stories per month to non-subscribers.
It seems the end of the online paid-for model is rapidly nearing.

I can understand opening up comments and other UGC, but if you are going to keep the news (which is often available on other sources) behind a wall, wouldn't you also want to keep your OpEd, Opinion, and Columnists there (content that make you truly unique) as well.
