ESPNU taps students to create UGC

Posted by Evan Fell on December 7, 2007 at 1:14 PM
ESPNU, a college sports network, is asking students, professors and athletic departments at 20 universities to cover their respective schools’ games as part of an effort to use more user-generated content.
Eleven schools have signed up for the student-run effort so far, called the ESPNU Campus Connection.

The network is looking for students to provide clips featuring play-by-play and analyst commentary, sideline reporting and producing televised events on ESPNU. The content will be used across all ESPN channels and sites, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN360.com, and ESPN magazine as well. In the beginning, ESPNU will hand out coverage assignments to the schools.
