Zillow.com, an online real estate services company is partnering with newspaper companies to extend local real estate adds to the newspaper’s online sites. Newspaper advertisers who are advertising open house or for-sale ads would also have the option to place the ads on zillow.com.
The deal includes 282 papers and their online sites including Journal Register, Media General, and Hearst Newspapers.
This partnership comes at a good time. Peter Petrosky, director for entertainment, media, and the communications practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers, expects Internet ad revenues this year to reach $20bn.
Broadband video, rich Internet and mobile applications, and social media are driving ad sales. Search advertising is also being used to target audiences based on their interests. It allows advertisers to show their ads based on search keywords and terms that have to do with their
products.
