Users get free FT.com story through Google

Posted by Jean Yves Chainon on October 25, 2007 at 10:05 AM
In a new Google-newspaper deal, users who come through a Google link will now be able to access one FT.com story, without affecting their ‘free story’ quota or having to register.

Last month, the Financial Times partially pulled down its paywall, by allowing users to access 30 stories per month for free.

But under the ‘First Click Free’ program, users will be able to access a story through a Google link – or through any of the other 30 partner websites – without affecting their quota.

In recent months, Google has taken many steps to further its collaboration with newspaper industry, including a controversial agreement with press agencies and extending its news sitemaps service to publishers.

About what "30 other partner sites" are you talking? Is it partner sites of Google or FT? And where can I find a list of them?
