US: Sun-Times to launch paid electronic edition
Posted by Jean Yves Chainon on August 23, 2007 at 9:37 AM
We incorrectly reported yesterday that the Chicago Sun-Times was planning on building an online paywall. In fact, the paper has tabbed Clickshare Service Corp. to help it launch a paid-for electronic edition, sent to users through email.
The Chicago Sun-Times e-paper edition is a digital replica of the print paper, including photos and ads. Print subscribers will be provided unrestricted access.
"We chose Clickshare for our electronic edition because we wanted to give our print customers the added benefit of our E-edition while increasing our paid circulation," said John Cary, senior director of online operations for the Sun-Times.
