UK: News International titles to use new web content management system

News International’s (NI) Times Online has implemented a new web content management system that allows for reader-contributed features and multimedia integration. Other NI titles, including the Sun, will follow.

The new, Java-based content system comes from Escenic, a Norwegian company who built the program in cooperation with Aftenposten, De Telegraaf and TV2. In addition to news creation and online publishing, the program allows for the integration of community-oriented services as well as user-generated content and multimedia and flash technologies. London’s Telegraph and German conglomerate Axel Springer already use the system on their sites.

Isn't this rather old (and inaccurate) news? The Times implemented Escenic when they redesigned a few months ago. The Independent have been using it for years, and the Telegraph have not yet launched it.
