US: Times Reader, details

The New York Times has given details concerning its Times Reader, powered by Microsoft. Times Reader will officially launch March 27 and start as a subscription service, which will be included with Times’ home-delivery subscriptions.

- a standalone subscription will cost $165 a year – or $14.95 a month – with access to TimesSelect and Premium Crosswords.
- Times Reader will be free for home-delivery subscribers.
- Beta users and subscribers to the Times Reader newsletter who sign up before the launch will get a 14-month subscription for the price of 12 months.
