Creating alternative online revenue: Guardian's Wrap

The Guardian in the UK is currently doing a promo for its email news digest, The Wrap. Although the feature isn’t new, it’s an interesting newspaper online revenue model. The Wrap is subscription-only and costs £14.95 a year.

 
The Wrap is an email sent by 9:30am UK time, which includes the day’s top stories as seen from several papers.

On Fridays, The Wrap summarizes the week’s ‘best’ stories and provides an exclusive preview of Saturday’s Guardian and Sunday’s Observer.

This feature is obviously interesting for readers on the move, who may be interested by the relatively low cost of the service.
