India: Do it for the kids
Posted by Allie Judson on November 16, 2006 at 9:58 AM
The multi-media company Impactmedia Ltd. celebrated children’s day Tuesday by launching a children’s newspaper in Bombay, India.
After a poll of Indian children, the company found that regular news stories are seen as irrelevant and boring by its youngest market causing them to feel left out. After talking to schools and parents, Impactmedia decided a children’s paper was in order.
The eight page fortnightly paper, the New Kidz Herald, already has 75,000 subscribers, mostly schools but some private, and consists of “did You Know” columns, local school news, entertainment, latest CDs, gizmos, festivals, cartoon strips, and a feedback section.
