UK: the status of blogging
Some major points:
Not yet reporting: Roy Greenslade, Journalism professor at City University: "What we haven't developed yet is the citizen journalist who goes out and writes and reports."
Blogs are overhyped: The British Market Research Bureau found that only 2 percent of Internet users keep a blog, that most forget about them after 3 months, and only about 10% of Internet users read blogs
Regional citizen journalism: Greenslade: "I expect citizen journalism to really take off at regional and local level: citizens reporting about what goes on in their area, on their street."
