UK: newspaper revenues plummet as Internet advertising soar

In another sign of the times, Internet advertising spending in the United Kingdom exploded 73% to hit 1.1 billion pounds sterling. On the other hand, newspaper advertising revenues fell 3% for nationals and 4.4% for regionals, classified ads dropping 5%. The overall UK advertising market grew 2.1%, significantly less than the 6% increase in the previous year.
