Steve Outing illustrates on Poynter Online that there is money in citizen photography. UK citizen photo agency Scoopt, which serves as a middle man for amateur photographers, selling any of their newsworthy photographs on to traditional media organizations, has released details of some of its notable success stories. These include a mobile phone photo of UK conservative politician David Cameron shopping, which fetched $2,200, and another of a new character from television series Doctor Who, which was sold for $3,500.
