TimesofOman.com is the leading English-language news portal in Oman. The print newsroom counts 30 staffers, whereas the online version only counts three. The website, which was re-launched in November 2006, receives on average 80,000 views per day. Cariappa A A, web editor of Times of Oman, explains how such a small team can put up a quality website daily, through efficient time management and adapted content.

Politiken was among the four newspapers to win the “World’s Best-Designed Newspaper” award this year. Consultancy group Palmer Watson was in charge of the design, and this was the third time a paper designed by this small group won the award. A word from some of the world’s best newspaper designers.

UK: Guardian redesign keeps on winning

Guardian Unlimited reports that it's radically-transformed-into-a-Berliner-as-of-last-September print sister has been honored with the distinction of best-designed national title at the European Newspaper Awards. Judges called the former broadsheet an "exciting example of how extensive redesign and preservation of characteristic features can go together".
