US: WSJ.com redesigns home page

Posted by Diana Epstein on March 15, 2006 at 5:04 PM
The Wall Street Journal Online recently significantly redesigned its home page for the first time since 2002. Changes were made to personalize the site for readers and make it easier to use. New features include My Online Journal, which allows readers to receive news in personalized one-page formats, making it easier to scan.

In support of the changes, managing editor of WSJ.com Bill Grueskin said “we want to provide readers with a very clean and fast way to get to information, whether they trust our judgment, their own judgment or a combination of both,”

New search and personalization and search features are also in the works.

A change in online format, to Grueskin means increased usage and  “increased usage should mean more ad revenue.”
