In an article discussing the impending sale of Knight Ridder and the impact its outcome will have on the American newspaper industry, Editor & Publisher cites Merrill Lynch's pessimistic forecast for this year's newspaper advertising: "We keep coming back to the same conclusion that newspaper ad revenue growth in 2006 is likely to trail even the paltry estimated 2.4% in 2005."
