Aspiring reporters and correspondents should consider relocating

In this digital age where technology lends itself to information at one's fingertips, one interactive website shows that American reporters and correspondent wannabes may not find their dream jobs quite so conveniently. That is of course, unless their hometown is Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles or New York.
WANTED Technologies, a site specialized in measuring hiring trends, reports that Los Angeles is by far the most lucrative locality for job-hunting journalists with a total number close to 2,000 who secured jobs in May. Atlanta and Dallas tied for second place as the safest bets for media related work. Both cities boast 700 sealed deals, with Atlanta's score for supply and demand being slightly higher than in Dallas.

Supply and demand scores are tallied based on the size of the labor pool in a metro area and the number of job applicants who land work in their field of interest. Ratios for supply and demand are produced by dividing the local hiring
demand ratio by the national hiring demand ratio, and multiplying by
100.
WANTED data is not limited to careers in the media industry as it provides the same information to job applicants chasing work in the health, legal, business and education sectors among others.
The New York and Chicago markets also raked in impressive results fo broadcast and corresponding. Clearly, the flyover states (with the exceptions of Georgia, Illinois and Texas) are not worth pursuing in terms of broadcast and corresponding careers, as demonstrated by WANTED. The data does not specify which companies are hiring or have hired, nor does it link users to job postings though their data is compiled from online job ad postings.
