The subpoenas issued to fifteen Pennsylvania journalists have been thrown out by a Harrisburg judge. The subpoenas were served to reporters who covered the grand jury
investigation that resulted in state police charging casino owner Louis
DeNaples with four counts of perjury in January.
The reporters were summoned to testify at a hearing on whether a special prosecutor should be appointed to investigate alleged violations of grand jury secrecy.
DeNaples' legal team issued subpoenas to journalists from The Associated Press and various other organisations.
