US: NAA releases latest revenue figures for American newspapers
Posted by Kelley Vendeland on April 1, 2008 at 10:08 AM
Latest figures from the Newspaper Association of America (NAA) show a significant loss in newspaper revenues between 2006 and 2007, reports Follow the Media.
Newspapers weathered a $3.9 billion dollar drop in 2007 compared to a $167,000 deficit in 2006, with the drop in print advertising figuring heavily into the latest report's findings (discussed in detail on our sister blog SFN).
NAA reports that newspaper's online revenue continues to grow, albeit at a slower rate than before. Although online ad revenue jumped almost 19% in 2007, online is no longer entirely shoring up print losses as it has in years past.
