US: Scripps Co. launches social networking politics site
Posted by Jean Yves Chainon on January 21, 2008 at 9:03 AM
Scripps. Co. launched last Wednesday a social networking website entitled RedBlueAmerica that will focus on the 2008 elections.
RedBlueAmerica will serve as a free public forum and host user-generated content, including blogs, personal profiles and videos.
It will also feature political news, a newsletter for subscribers and a daily public opinion poll called “Truth or Not,” which will examine the veracity of factual claims made by newsmakers and other personalities.
"RedBlueAmerica is a place for people interested in what the other half thinks on the important and interesting issues of the day," said John Temple, founder of the site and vice president of news for Scripps' newspaper division.
The moderators of the discussion will be Ben Boychuk, an editorial writer for Investors Business Daily and conservative blogger, and Joel Mathis, a blogger and reporter who will represent the Democrats’ point of view.
