Posted by Jean Yves Chainon on January 2, 2008 at 11:03 AM
For cyberjournalist.net, citizen journalism and user-generated content dominated online news in 2007, as most of its top 10 stories for the year involved an element of CitJ.

Here are a few examples from the site’s top 10 list, which all point to the increasing presence of user-generated content in mainstream media. This is in line with a Polopoly survey, according to which European newspaper executives thought nearly 40% of their content would be user-generated within three years:

- 1. New York Times launches user-generated features

- 3. Citizen Journalism: From Pamphlet to Blog

- 4. CNN to launch user-generated video show on-air

- 5. AP partners with citizen journalism site (EW link)

- 7. Eyewitness video of Virginia Tech shootings (EW link)

- 10. Washington Post issues blog guidelines (EW link)
