Things are faring well for the Sun Online, which picked up a few awards at the Association of Online Publishers (AOP) conference, plans to get the paper’s former editor to blog, and has grown traffic in recent months.
Kelvin Mackenzie, former editor of The Sun from 1981 to 1993, will join Sun Online as a blogger and promote interaction with readers.
The Sun’s website picked up two awards at the AOP conference, for Design and Usability, as well as Use of Video.
The site will also be switching to a new content management system, escenic.
With 10.6 million unique visitors to its website in August, thesun.co.uk is ahead of the Times Online and the Telegraph website.
