Reuters launches web and mobile sites in India

Reuters has launched new web and mobile sites in India. The English-language sites will carry text-based news, video and blogs with news from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.

Video content will be provided by Times Now and by Reuter’s regional bureaus, and blogs will be integrated via the Pluck blog network.

"We have built Reuters India to be the premier online and mobile news destination for the rapidly growing audience of South Asian business professionals,” said Reuters India general manager SN Bhaduri.

Nokia also recently launched a mobile news portal in India. In a booming media market, competition amongst non-Indian players is about to heat up.
