Germany: site launched for free World Cup research

Posted by Diana Epstein on March 27, 2006 at 12:33 PM
In the wake of the debates about online coverage of the World Cup, a new collaboration between the German government and the German Press Agency (DPA) has created a new online media service that will support journalists reporting on this summer’s football World Cup.

Free research material will now be available online in English, German and Spanish. Although journalists need to register, all content is free, including text reports, TV footage and royalty-free images.

"We want to offer journalists the perfect service for their reports on Germany and its people," said Mike de Vries, chief executive of FC Deutschland.
