Denmark: newspaper threatened with bomb attack

Posted by John Burke on February 1, 2006 at 9:28 AM

Denmark's largest paper, Jyllands Posten, which published political cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed that have incited an uproar in the Muslim world, received a bomb threat late yesterday afternoon. Two of the daily's offices were evacuated. The paper's editor-in-chief, Carsten Juste said, "It is an attack on the freedom of the press and against one of democracy's most important prerequisites, the free word." Dear All,

Salaam and peace to all. The issue of posting caricatures in the Danish newspaper Jyllands Posten indicates yet another blow to the already fragile East - West relations in general and Islam - Christianity in particular. We as Muslims and civilised nation have always chosen the moderate way and had been the pioneers of protecting non Muslim minorities and respcting the religious beliefs of the general public. On the contrary, countries calling to be the so called civilised nations like Danemark who allows same sex marriages, gambling, wine and every immoral activity in their society, make fun of the true Prophet of Almighty God. Danish people should fear the punishment of God. It is very easy for us to make sensible fun of Prophet Essa PBUH (jesus) but by the grace and blessings of Almighty God, we revere him as much as the Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH. All I would say to the insult that I pray that Almighty God will bless the Danish people with brains and senses of good will (amen).

Why all Abrahamic faiths or the Jehovha/God/Allah believers must be at wars with one anther since the Jesus and Mohammed time? Have they learn their lessons on peace? Look at the sleek eyes Chinese. They never fought a single war in their faiths and belief. Why??? Because Taoism, Buddhism and Confucism are atheistic belief and of philosophical nature. Even westerners would see them superstitious in their practices, but you are rest assure, they won't burn your churches nor your country's flag if you poke fun on their belief. But not for these simple minded god-fearing believers... Apathetic! Big eyes people of the west/ middle eastern had to to learn what is peace from the narrow-eyed people of the East....

You own no one an apology . I admire your country, your culture and your freedom. If religious fanitics are offended that's too bad. Maybe they should accept the fact that not everyone has to feel the way they do. Even in the U.S.A there's a growning religious fanatism. I wish we were more like you.

You have nothing to apologise for. Islamic followers have disrespected other religions and no one burnt their mosques/businesses in retaliation.
I wish our Western Governments would show some back bone and stand up to these folks who are religious dictators.
