The Telegraph has also launched seven other blogs during the last month, and there are "more to come". Five of the existing blogs are authored by foreign correspondents, one by the foreign editor, and one by the diplomatic editor. (see here for the complete Telegraph weblog index)

Shane Richmond of Upload describes the other 7 blogs as follows: "our foreign correspondents are offering their personal take on life in their part of the world but they also have the journalistic expertise to dig into the stories behind their observations."

Richard Burton asserts that the decision for foreign correspondents to start blogging first was deliberate: "we started with the foreign correspondents because they have very exciting lives. They have masses of contacts, are fed information all the time and are totally immersed in their work." 

Simon Waldman Director of Digital Publishing, Guardian Newspapers has a personal blog, SimonWaldman.net, where he comments on "newspapers, new media and beyond." It will be interesting to compare the insights of Upload's contributors to those of Waldman.
