Danish paper apologizes for racy political cartoons
Protests in several Arabic nations accompanied by a boycott of Danish goods in Saudi Arabia and a threat of attacks on Danish nationals ultimately resulted in a response by the paper's editor-in-chief, Carsten Juste, who said, "The 12 cartoons... were not intended to be offensive, nor were they at variance with Danish law, but they have indisputably offended many Muslims, for which we apologise."
The Danish Prime Minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, also made a statement declaring his deep respect for people's beliefs while maintaining the independence of the Danish press from any control by the Danish government.

how dare they ?
Dear Sir,
"AuthorHouse Publishing Compny, U.K" has recently for me a book entitled"Modern Cosmology and the Quran, From a Scientific Perspective". The Book is addressed to Western Communities in general to be acquainted with Islam. The Book is very interesting. Please try to visit my web domain:(www.CosmologyandtheQuran.com)
to get a fair idea about its content.I am sure you will be pleased. The Book was published just one month ago.I will be very thankful if you send me your comment about
its subject. Thank You.
I don't think the newspaper needs to apologize at all. They have the freedom to print whatever they want-- regardless of who it offends. Terrible depictions of other countries and religions are printed every day, but no one ever KILLS someone over them. These protestors need to stop being such cry-babies.
In my opinion ever since 9/11 America and allied countries of America have been sending nothing but hatred towards the muslim people in the world. Well since no one else wants to speak out I will. I'm a teen girl who is muslim and have been residing in the U.S since my childhood and through out my years in elementary school never did I once hear a white kid say "hey muslims are terrorists" well things change two years in my junior high years the hatred begins. Well terrorist groups might be attacking and bombing the U.S and embassies in the world for whatever reasons. You people can do whatever you want but leave the muslim people alone and MOST IMPORTANTLY leave the Islamic RELIGION alone. Have you so-called people who think you have dignity and integrity ever stop and think that muslims were and are the most civilized people in the world for hundreds of years now and who wrote the books of Anatomy, and who came up with medicine that's helping you people who are well known for cancer and all of those weird diseases and infections well to make you understand it was we THE MUSLIMS. And for your own F.Y.I. The prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) is not something to be criticized as a political cartoon, have you people have no brain. Have you ever heard a muslim poke fun at christians, baptist...etc... let me answer that for you NO! well why poke fun at others religions and I don't care if the law says freedom of speech people need to know their boundaries when it comes to others. Well let me tell you people that our beloved prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) was the last prophet of Islam. So like many of my teachers told me before "think before you speak" in my own words "think before you ever utter another word about Islam."
Sincerly,
Fatma
i agree with fatma. what have muslims done to you critians ppl. nothing mabye sadam hussain and other ppl did things that were bad but this doesnrt mean all muslims are bad. no muslim newspaper ever published a cartoon with a cross and bombs, well why should you. muslims are pure of heart unlke most chritians. we are polite. i am a 12 year old girl speaking from my heart. which is full of anger. well if one country published this cartoon and ppl didnt like it, it doesnt mean thar other countries should., hey you may have the freedom of speach and stuff but if i drew a cartoon of a cross and 2 bombs hanging from it and then published it, you chritians will definently call it affending and racist right? if i said it was freedom of the press, you will all take me to the supreme court and sue me. now how do u think we feel. sicerely mahnure moula jenny
The cartoons were funny. People need to lighten up. If the protestors do not like the cartoons then they shouldn't read the newspaper that published them.
Freedom of expression is not a myth. It is a real truth - unlike the taboos of Islam
It is also a slight irony that a cartoon depicting the prophet Mohammed with a bomb in his head-dress creates anger amongst the muslim community and in turn leds to bomb threats.
In addition 'Arab world to boycott Danish goods' Correct me if I am wrong but are the main exports of Denmark not Beer, Bacon and Porn?
How long are we supposed to believe that Islam is a religion of peace?
