South Africa: Zulu-speaking newspapers circulation is growing

The editors and publishers of SA's Zulu-language newspapers believe that the African renaissance principles of pride in one's own language and culture is the reason for the surge of growth in this market. Circulation figures released by the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) for July to December 2003 show significant year-on-year growth in the circulation of the two main Zulu-language newspapers in KwaZulu-Natal: Isolezwe with 55,195 (up 62%), and Ilanga with 98,492 (up 7%).
