France: Free paper Direct launched in Nice

Bolloré Group has launched the third edition of free daily Direct in Nice according to Newspaper Innovation.  The paper's initial circulation will be 35,000.

Capture_203.jpg  In addition, the Paris edition, Direct Matin, will increase in circulation by 50,000 copies to 500,000.  New editions of the freesheet are also planned for the cities of Toulouse and Strasbourg.

With the new editions, Direct will become France's largest free daily, ahead of Metro and 20 MinutesWhile many predict the decline of free papers, the French market seems to be thriving.
