US: Synergy of stories for The Wall Street Journal and New York Post?

News Corp. titles The Wall Street Journal and New York Post are showing signs of a "synergy," according to Politico, as the same story ran in both newspapers November 29.
The Post has run copy from other News Corp. titles in the past, but this was the first instance with WSJ.  The Post, as a tabloid, takes a different approach in its editorial than WSJ, which caused concern for some staff.

WSJ staff said they were "uneasy" about the decision, hoping it would not become common practice for fear of WSJ stories being published "in the tabloid with Post headlines and graphics, or vice versa."

Story subjects who agree to a WSJ interview, they said, might not be aware of it running in another paper, as was the case with the Citigroup story that ran on Saturday in both titles.

As the titles merge to a central News Corp. headquarters in New York, the company expects more "synergy" between the two papers, an epiphenomenon of the changing approach to news delivery.
