Both the Wall Street Journal's print edition and The New York Times Online will both be adding new elements this week.
The WSJ is running with advertiser Dell's cover wrap on Thursday for the first time in its history, according to Ad Age.

The Times Online will finally be activating Times Extra, an alternate view of the home page that links to related coverage from other sources. Ad Age believes this "marks a big departure for the news brand that many consider the newspaper of record."
The practice of linking to competitors as sources is seen as a lugubrious solution to increasing ad revenue by boosting readership, especially as it may compromise the brand name. However, many also feel that this is just part of the evolution of the media in the Internet age.
According to Denise Warren, senior vice president and chief advertising officer for the NYT, "Times Extra is an important part of our strategy to become a destination for compelling journalism, not only by The New York Times, but by other content providers as well. We want to give our readers a comprehensive view of the news and opinion our editors think is important."
Aggregated headlines will appear beneath many of the articles and sources names will be highlighted in green. To activate Times Extra users must click on the button at the top of the homepage, after 24 hours it will deactivate and readers will need to "Switch Back." The aggregated stories will be powered by Blogrunner which will crawl the web for stories.
