At the World Association of Newspapers' Digital and Readership Conference in Amsterdam today, Le Figaro's Special Advisor, Frederic Sitterle told delegates "We often hear that newspapers are in trouble. That's not exactly the truth."

images-7.jpegIn making his point, he used Le Figaro as an example. Sitterle pointed out that the flagship French daily is part of a larger organisation made up of other newspapers and magazines in The Figaro Group. Taking the whole organization together, the media group reaches five million people a month just with its print products.

Sitterle believes that to succeed news organizations need to be agile and efficient. He also said that newspapers must focus on technology and innovation, and be ready to invest.
