US: Seattle Times and Seattle P-I change layouts

On October 13, The Seattle Times eliminated its stand-alone business section.  Business coverage will now be inside the A section, except on Sundays when they will continue to run the separate business section.

Although the both papers are suffering declining print readership, their websites are growing and are among the top 30 nationwide.

P-I Managing Editor David McCumber responded to concerns about letting down customers stating that the newspaper will focus on areas where it can make the greatest impact for Seattle readers.
