For the past two years French free-daily, Ouest-France has been able to attract young readers and maintain high readership.

He also explained that, "Young people are used to free information," which he attributes to the growing success of distributing free papers to the younger population as a means to increase paid-for subscriptions.

According to Forum 4 Editors, Ouest-France has a "daily circulation of nearly 800,000 copies - twice as much as the best selling nation-wide title Le Monde."
