Dutch free daily De Pers unveiled its new look on Monday, 1 September. The new design includes more sports and business content. The new "In Business" section (below) is 5 pages long.
De Pers reported in the 1 September edition that it reaches 1 million 'better-educated' readers. However, the last official NOM-survey had 800,000 readers in total for De Pers. New figures will be available at the end of September.
Distribution in offices is also being expanded, with De Pers now being distributed in 2000 offices.
In the second half of 2009, the paper expects to reach break-even according to editor and publisher Ben Rogmans in de Volkskrant.
