South Africa: daily newspaper The Herald boosts readership by 24.5% this year

South African daily newspaper The Herald reports a 14.5% readership growth since last year. The paper's readers rose from 214,000 to 245,000 in 2008. Supplements La Femme showed a 20.2% increase in readership, whereas TGIF and World of Wheels saw a 22.2% and 23.9% surge, respectively. The paper redesigned its print edition last year, putting more emphasis on simultaneously promoting Web and print content as well as boosting reader interaction.
