Russian authorities propose that every region of the country should publish a sports-oriented newspaper so that sports in the country will acquire more dynamism, reports gazeta.ru in an article yesterday.
The article suggested that it was the press that helped hire athletes that are "strong" and have a lot of potential in order to compete at the Beijing Olympics this year, outlining that Russian journalists had a "truthful" prediction in the matter.
It may be viable for Russian media to create a network of sports journalists who will have the support of local authorities and who will aid in providing exposure for talented sportspeople for future events, gazeta.ru writes.
