Posted by Katherine Thompson on July 10, 2008 at 3:28 PM
The Chairman of the UK's Press Complaints Commission (PCC), Sir Christopher Meyer, is to stand down in March of 2009. This will be the end of his second three-year term in office.
Under Meyer's watch, the PCC confirmed that it would regulate newspaper and magazine websites.
His resignation comes at a time when the UK's major political parties have stated their support for self-regulation of the press.
The position of PCC chairman will be advertised.
