UK: Guardian unveils reformed version of Comment is Free
Posted by Liam Berkowitz on June 9, 2008 at 9:06 AM
The Guardian launched Wednesday a revamped version of its community blog Comment is free. The blog, designed as an extension of Guardian comment, boasts several new features.
Among the changes:
*A new home
Comment is Free is now hosted through the main guardian.co.uk platform instead of an independent one. The switch facilitates Comment is Free's makeover by enabling easier and increased participation.
*A new layout
Longer front page; highlighted hot topics; a slot for ideas; "sub-sites" for the most popular topics
*Increased transparency:
The new community platform, provided by Pluck, will document and compile postings, creating profiles that divulge user interests.
