Washington Post's online revenue growth slows
Posted by Kelley Vendeland on March 4, 2008 at 9:13 AM
The Washington Post Company's online publishing businesses, WashingtonPost.Newsweek Interactive and Slate reported an 11% online revenue growth this past year.
However, the new figures show that online growth has slowed, from a 28% growth rate in 2006.
Although it's not clear if slowing revenue growth is linked, the Company's online holdings have been shuffling around. Since 2000, the Washington Post Company has been sharing news material and promotional resources with NBC News and MSNBC. However, as of July 2007, MSNBC's website no longer hosts Newsweek, which is now a stand-alone entity produced by the Company.
