UK: Guardian removes controversial video

Posted by Kelley Vendeland on February 12, 2008 at 10:48 AM
The Guardian has removed from its website a one-minute video depicting the aftermath of the Dimona suicide bombing after criticism that the video was a one-sided propaganda piece for Hamas.

The Guardian included the acknowledgement that “the video should have included a more balanced selection of interviewees.”

The video, sourced through Reuters, contains approximately 17 seconds of footage depicting the aftermath of the bombing. The remainder shows a Palestian Authority politican offering a feeble condemnation of the attack, and a statement that “the occupation is responsible for all the violence in the region.”
