Reuters is in talks with The New York Times about supplying the paper with business news after reaching a similar agreement with its sister title the International Herald Tribune.
The deal is designed to augment both titles’ business coverage, in an attempt to fend off the competitive threat from The Wall Street Journal.
Rupert Murdoch, the chairman and chief executive of News Corporation, plans to broaden The Wall Street Journal’s focus so that it better competes with The New York Times.
