The World Editors Forum will be host to a ‘Study Tour’ of the UK this December, opened to senior editors from across the globe. The editors are invited to share ideas and information on all aspects of newspapers.
The tour is five days, three of those days will be in London and the remaining two will be in Preston / Manchester.
In London the editors will have the chance to visit the Daily Telegraph, BBC, The Times, The Financial Times, and The Guardian and learn how each of these newspapers used innovative skills and adapted for success.
The editors will than visit the Department of Journalism in Preston where they will see how it was helpful to Johnston Press, the UK’s first fully integrated newsroom. Speakers there will be head of journalism Mike Ward and Johnston Press chief executive Tim Bowdler.
The delegates will also have the chance to visit the new offices of the Manchester Evening News which has transformed into a fully multimedia platform. This transformation, made last year, included the decision to hand out free copies of the print version at main shopping areas.
The Study Tour will visit some of the most well-known and impressive media organizations, providing a wealth of information to senior editors.
Unfortunately, the Study Tour has already been sold out for this year.
