Lancaster New Era to end Saturday edition

Next year, the Saturday afternoon edition of the Lancaster New Era will be eliminated. The paper will be replaced with a combined Saturday morning edition of the New Era and the Intelligencer Journal, says Lancaster Newspapers Inc.
The new edition will keep all of the features from the Intelligencer Journal and add the comics and the editorial page from the New Era.
The New Era staff will be reduced as a result of the move, but will come mostly from attrition and early retirement.
