After creating its new multimedia integrated newsroom, BBC News is expected to produce more on-demand content for mobile and IPTV. Separate Radio News, News Interactive, and TV News departments were ended to combine the strengths of the newsroom after significant cuts were made under the six-year Creative Future Plan.
Peter Horrocks, the new head of the newsroom said that there content for new platforms would be helpful in “increasing personalisation and providing purpose-made audio/video for the web.” He also noted that the integrated newsroom “is the start of one of the biggest changes we have ever been through” and “many of the people who bring you the news are uncertain of their own futures.”
