Wrap-up from the SFN blog

Some news tidbits from our partner site, the SFN blog: in an inflammatory article, the International Herald Tribune affirms much of the recent circulation decline for top US newspapers has been intentional, for marketing reasons. The Belo Corp., owner of the Dallas Morning News, also announced that it would split its newspapers and television assets into two smaller companies.

Hi Professor,
I am a journalism student in Melbourne, Australia and am currently researching the effect of new media technologies on journalism and the rise of citizen journalism.
I am looking for participants for the study which will be taking place between July and September of this year, the main method will be indpeth interviews with experts, citizen journalists and industry professionals. I am particularly interested in the lagging state of online journalism in Australia in comparison to other industrialised nations.
Please let me know if you would like to participate, we can conduct the interview via email if this is most convenient.
Kind regards,
Emily Braham.
