USA Today: the paper that became a department store

Posted by Jean Yves Chainon on September 21, 2007 at 9:52 AM
USA Today is readying to open its brand store at the LaGuardia Airport in New York. Not very editorial, but it points in the direction of newspaper groups’ increasingly diversified activities.

The USA Today store will sell merchandise tagged with the paper’s trademark colors: lifestyle products in purple, sports in red, financial goods in green and news in blue.

The paper hasn’t given details on the products to be sold, but DM News reports that publisher Craig Moon is planning on USA Today-branded sudoku games and food products.
