Freesheet Metro confirmed news that it will increase its circulation in the UK by 250,000 copies, starting on Oct. 1. Its total print run will amount to 1.35 million copies daily.

This will consolidate its position as the fourth largest daily newspaper in the UK.

200,000 extra copies will be distributed in London, and the paper has secured new distributing points across several stations including Epsom, Stevenage, Colchester, Chelmsford and Milton Keynes.

The Sun recently tried to put up some counter measures by reducing its cover price and employing street vendors in London, while other newspapers have fought their decline in circulation by increasing their cover price.
