African Editors’ Forum to hold debate, “The imaging of Africa”
Many of the editors from TAEF were recently in attendance at the annual World Editors Forum conference in Cape Town, South Africa. Mathatha Tsedu from South Africa, Gaitho Macharia from Kenya, Cyrille Kileba from DRC, Rob Jamieson from Malawi, and Souleymane Diallo from Guinea Conakry will all represent TAEF at the debate. Speakers from different parts of Africa will participate in the debate, speaking on journalism and media from the respective countries and regions.
Presidents from South Africa, Tanzania, DRC, Senegal, Algeria, Nigeria, and Liberia have been invited to attend. TAEF hopes that the debate will become a regular addition to the annual African Union summit that the presidents will be attending in Ghana at the end of June.
