US: Politico to share content with USA Today, others
USAToday.com will prominently feature on its newly redesigned political page Politico articles and columns about the presidential race, Congress, and special interests. Selected stories will also appear in the USA Today print edition. USAToday.com political coverage will also appear on Politico.com. "This is the perfect marriage: our comprehensive coverage of politics with USAToday.com’s cutting edge, widely read web platform,” said Robert Allbritton, CEO of Politico's parent company, Allbritton Communications.
The Politico has entered similar agreements with the largest newspapers in the four states hosting the first-in-the-nation presidential primaries and caucuses: the New Hampshire Union Leader, the State (South Carolina), the Des Moines Register (Iowa) and the Las Vegas Sun.
Last month, USA Today unveiled its new, “network-journalism” -focused website, which has been successful thus far. Politico, which launched early this year, works on an innovative multi-platform structure with the help of experienced political reporters. The two combined could provide a new kind of pro-am campaign coverage.
